We had an amazing day with wonderful people at Loskopdam. A boat ride around the lake, animals in their natural habitat, dinner on the banks of the lake, and we saw the Southern Cross for the first time ever.

We left Lopskam and headed for Bela Bela through orange groves, fields of corn and sunflowers.

  1. Laur, the photographs are so beautiful. How close were you to the monkeys? The little group of boys (in the previous blogpost)-- are they sitting on the steps of the school?

  2. The monkeys were running all over the grounds at Loskopdam. We were as close as we can get to squirrels at home. They hnag out on the ground a bit longer than the squirrels and they do not scamper quite as much but they won't let you get too close...still wildlife. As for the children, yes, they are on the steps of the school that was not due to open for another day.
