I visited a program today that included health care, nutrition, and the three programs depicted above where mothers learn the proper techniques for nursing their babies, "Skin to Skin" where young parents learn to connect and bond to their babies, and child care. It was an amazing place with dedicated staff working very hard to make a difference in the lives of at-risk families.
I love the idea of educating the parents. I believe even families that are not necessarily at risk could make use of the information we receive as teachers.
