Unfortunately it is hard for me as a mother of young children to have to let them play with fire, used a knife or drive a car. I believe there are other ways children can develop learning and experiences in a safer environment. I was only agree with deconstruct appliances which remind me when I was about 9 years old I used to take apart watches and put them back together again, for me it was fun.
I`m ok with my children throwing or fixing stuff. But playing with fire, knives or driving a car, it will never happen. People were laughing at his jokes, which I think weren't funny at all. Nancy Gabriel.
I feel like like most of the things he wants kids to get used to are really dangerous and cannot be done with until a certain age. I most likely will never just let my daughter play with fire or a knife. especially with all these other kids putting ideas of violence in other kids head. However, playing with a spear could be fun at a camp and deconstructing something and putting it back together again, sounds like something that could keep her properly occupied for a good while as long as it's done ith parental supervision.
I think that when Ted was a little boy his father and grandfathe took him camping or fishing and gave him a pocket knife. On the camp site they clean fish and Ted had his little pocket knife to help clean the fish and at night they build a camp fire to keep warm and toast marshmawllow on stick. I can related to some of these dangerous thing, But the child has to be a certain age and must know the rules and dangerous things can happen when doing these actives. The child must know that an adult must be around also when doing these actives. If the children know how to follow the rules and directions acompany with an adult it life. One day these thing become an experience learned. The driving part is ok, for my grandfather sat me on his lap and let me drive at the age of 3 or 4 years old. When I went to get my driver license I didn't need driver school. I had no trouble keep the car in the right lane. Children do dangerous things ever day, with our teaching at home and in the school dangerous or not they learning to live. Some kids are athletes and parents were world champion and with training the throwing the spear is dangerous, but with a adult and rules don't look to dangerous. That how I see children learning all the world has to offer.
